Ellie wanted a Kermit cake this year. I wasn't really sure how I could make a Kermit-shaped cake large enough to feed 20 kids plus their parents so I made an edible Kermit and stuck it on top of a 10-layer-super-yummy-but-super-fattening cake. It turned out really well!

They are identical in every way except appearance.
We used one of our last two exploding-candles-that-sing-Happy-Birthday (which we got in China six years ago!). When the kids saw/heard it their jaws hit the floor. The only problem was we had to stick it in Kermit's head in order for it to open up :(
