August? It's over? How'd that happen?
Apparently I didn't take a lot of photos in August...
...that's weird.
I did get this one of the girls pretending to be Ninjas....
...that was kind-of weird, too.
First day of school, 2014-15
Mr. Ron was still their bus driver this year ...for three whole days.
But the bus was too crowded so the route got divided and we didn't get to keep Mr. Ron :(
Ellie's BFF, Eleanor, and her sister Rena had a sleepover at our house.
They are just such awesome kids :)
And now it's September.
And we're off to Disney and Harry Potter World...
...with the Schroeder's!
Yippee!!!!!!!!!!

Huntington Beach, Day 5, Part 2---Last Day at the Beach
I had forgotten just how powerful the west coast waves are...
...on the east coast I can just sit in a chair and keep a (very relaxed) eye on the kids when they are in the water....
...but not this trip!
I had a stress-induced neck-ache after they were (safely) out of the water for the day!
The 60-ish degree water was too cold for Ellie...
...who was content to just hang out and play in the warm sand :)
Britt (above) teaching Quincy how to body surf :)
It was just such a great trip ...
...*pleasant sigh*...

Huntington Beach, Day 5, part 1---- Horses!
Above is one of Britt's (three!) horses----He's the offspring of a wild mustang...
...and it shows (he's feisty)!
But beautiful.
The two horses the girls and Jack rode were the opposite of feisty...perfect for their first ride.
Safety never takes a holiday.
Last year Sophie brought her horse to college with her...
...how cool is that?
I don't think they knew that shoveling poop was part of the bargain for the day....
Some of my most cherished memories growing up were riding horses with Britt all over the (now gone) fields of Huntington Beach when we were kids. Over the years I have spoken to the girls about just how crazy-cool-awesome that time of life was--- and I am soooo happy they finally got to meet Britt and experience just a tiny bit of what my life was like when I was close to their age.

Huntington Beach, Day 4---Old Man's and the Tide Pools
50 is the new 20
:)
Britt
I love her
:)
Britt's totally awesome daughters: Lily (above)...
...and Sophie (below)
After Old Man's we drove back up the coast and hit the tide pools at Pelican Point (in Laguna).
We saw some great shells
(which ultimately stayed in the tide pools)...
...and the sea anemones were beautiful!
The shoes we wore were soooo not appropriate for climbing on the slippery rocks of the tide pools...
...hence Quincy being carried the majority of the time.
For someone who used to never want her photo taken, it's now difficult to get a picture without Quincy jumping in it!
