For Lauren and Barb

Please know she's happy.
And loved.

Tink

Sooo....you know we have a new dog.  She is huge but, like all the other dogs we've ever had, she thinks she's small.  The other day was the girl's first spirit day at school.  Their mascot is the Dolphins---so (naturally) I made skirts and shirts in that theme.  And of course I wanted a photo of it.  But trying to get a decent photo without a 125 pound dog pushing her way in (to get some love) was close to impossible.

She is yummy.....and we have all fallen for her (and she matches the girls really well when they are wearing heather-gray!).

Fall Festival

One of my favorite moms and one of my most beloved former students (who made AP Physics look easy!).
Some random scarecrow that always signals the beginning of the parade (seriously---she is here every year and I look forward to seeing her---whoever she is!).

Lump in my throat every year.
She is just sooo pretty.  And she's really good at Physics!  AND... she got to wear the cow suit for the orchestra this year because she's finally a senior.

I shall miss them when they graduate.  They brought me much happiness last year during 7th period.

And these boys bring me much happiness this year.  My day becomes brighter when they walk through my door (much like six years ago when the one on the right's brother was my student!).

The girls will be swimming for Coach Reason next year.  I unwisely chose proximity over quality for swim team last season.  He is quality.

Santa made an appearance again this year!  Never quite sure how to explain that to the girls.

They raked in a lot of loot this year!

His nickname is Smiley.  He is nothing short of delightful.

Soccer's here...

...and Ellie is in her happy place.

And so is Quincy.

This and that...and a new dog!

We have a new pet---it's a bull-frog!  We are calling him Prince Naveen.  Get it????
The weather is cooling off (yay!) so we are back at the park....

....and back in the backyard watching movies outside.  This weekend was The Lorax.

We also got a new dog!  Yes, it is a Great Dane---her name is Tink and she is 120 pounds of pure love.

In Kindergarten this year Quincy is on a different program of study....  her teacher is working on writing with her.  Below is her very first book report.  Huh.

Lastly, today is Ellie's first soccer game of the season---she can not wait!

'Tis the Season...

...to spend Friday nights in packed stadiums (watching a game I don't get).  But the girls love it and it's always good to see my (super awesome!) students outside of the classroom....

Labor Day---according to Quincy

Driving to ballet the other evening Quincy decided to educate us on why we were having a three day weekend.  Quincy:  This Monday is Labor Day so we need to laze around the house thinking about people who work.  Huh.

Here is what they actually did on Labor Day (not much lazing around---but it was fun!).

One of their new games is to hop on their bouncy-balls while they use their hula-hoops as horse-reins. (??)

Quincy did get the meaning of Labor Day kind-of correct when she had Ellie carry her from room-to-room on her back.

...and we finished the last of the Avatar series (sob, sniff-sniff).  It was such a great series (for all of us, not just the girls) that it was like saying good-bye to an old friend when the last episode ended.  Tim (I swear this was not me!) had the girls dress as Katara and Zuko (complete with face-paint and appropriate hairdos) for the last episode.  Tim went as Aang.  Otis was Aapa.  Again---Nerd humor.  But they are my nerds!

This is how I found them when I went in to say good-night.  I love them.  They are awesome :)

Where did August go?

Quincy is excited that she gets to do pretty much the same things that Ellie did last year in Kindergarten...like make a bear hat (???).
The girl's favorite books are the Pippi Longstocking series and anything by Roald Dahl (Matilda being their favorite).
The last pool session before the pools closed for the year :(

The girls tried their hand at water-bending (if Aang the Avatar can do it so can they).  This is Nerd-Humor.

Ellie is back in soccer---and sooooooo happy about it.  And Quincy is equally happy she is not in soccer!  She prefers to sit on the side-lines and read.

Piano is back in session---Haemi is still their teacher (and we are ALL soooo happy about that!).  We love Haemi.
And, lastly, ballet began again.  The three amigos are back together for another season.

Happy September!
