National Surf Day

Last Saturday was National Surfing Day and we were lucky enough to be in Savannah to experience it.  Uncle Bill met us at Tybee Island and took the girls and Jack out on his paddle board for the first time (at least for the girls).  They all had a blast!

Jack is pretty good at both boogy-boarding and body surfing....

We got to see another jelly fish (I didn't know there is a species of non-stinging jellyfish that has a symbiotic relationship with crabs---but there is and we found one)!

Aunt Liz was rediculously helpful with the girls so I could snap away on my camera.

Quincy, who is typically our non-adventurous little one, appears to be born to balance on a board.  She was out there just dancing away...and having such a great time!

Ellie, who is hands-down our adventurous child, didn't like it too much---it hurt her knees :( 

But she got over it pretty fast.... 

  

Total happiness.  We had a GREAT weekend!

A Super Day!

Yesterday was not a fun day for the kids.  They spent the whole day being dragged all over the city for various errands.  Oddly enough, they didn't complain once the entire time of getting into and out of the car multiple times in 90 degree weather.  Today I made it up to them...it was the Ellie and Quincy Super Day of Fun and we crammed a zillion fun activities into it....and two of them were spent with their wonderful friend Emma Rae (who they love love love). 

They Made it to the Top of the Hill!

One of our favorite places to ride is the Alpharetta Greenway, a stretch of never-to-be-developed land that is used as a giant trail to run and bike on.  There is a pretty big hill at the beginning of the greenway that the girls have never been able to make it to the top of on their own---until today!!!!

Summer....

We've been in summer mode for two weeks now and it is yummy!  We are just spending our days going to puppet shows, Monkey Joe's, playing with friends, riding bikes, and swimming.  Lots and lots of swimming.

Oh...and doing lots of puzzles.

 
And spending time with some of my favorite former students.....

Quincy's First Recital

Quincy's first dance recital was one of the cutest (and funniest!) things I have ever seen.  There were eight dance groups, each doing a dance for about 4-ish minutes.  The age group for the kids was 4 to 5 years old.  I think that probably gives you the only mental image necessary for this.  Uncle Mike and Uncle Eric went to the recital with us.  After it was over, they both made the comment that they really need to start going to these things more often, even if they don't know any of the performers, just for a good laugh.  And a good laugh is what we all got.  It was sooo sooo soooo cute!!!

We were not allowed to take any photos or video during the performance but I am going to spend a small fortune to purchase the DVD of the show.  Once I get the DVD I will upload Quincy's class performance (if I am legally allowed to...not really sure about the whole copy-right thing....).

Ellie's last day of pre-school

Ellie's last day of pre-school was last Friday and her school had an end-of-the-year party to celebrate the occasion.  The theme was "Spread your Wings", so I made butterfly-shaped sandwiches and cookies to go along with the theme.  It was fun (I love love love being a mom!)!!!
