Goodbye, St. Louis...it was fun!!!

Trying to get the girls to focus long enough to grab a decent picture of them was hilarious!

4th of July

Fourth of July is supposedly a great day in the little neighborhood that we are currently renting in. The day begins with a parade at the local elementary school. We were soooo excited (well, at least I was) to see the parade. We were told that it always begins at 11:00 a.m., but they usually run late. So, at 11, we loaded Quincy up on her bike and trekked to the top of the street (about 5 houses deep) to wait for the parade. Well, we missed it. Wouldn't you know it, the one year we are living here, the parade started early. Oh well.
After the non-parade, we drove to Dave and Cathy's house for pool fun, good food, great friends, and fireworks. It was a lonnnggg, but fun, day.

Taylor and Sarah played hair-stylist's with Quincy....her head was 10 pounds heavier when they were through.

A Day at the Pool, Part 3

We purchased a float for Quincy from Baby's-r-us that is just two pieces of styrofoam that sandwiches her upper body. With this float, she is truly fearless and is now swimming. It is absolutely remarkable to watch our 19-month old Quincy get from point A to point B in the pool without our assistance. Yesterday she saved a lifeguard who got cramps while swimming in the water... :)

A Day at the Pool, Part 2

Part of the children's area at the pool...
A trip through the lazy river under the fountain

Whenever we try to steer Quincy through the lazy-river, she pushes our hands away and says (and I am NOT making this up), "No way". I have absolutely no idea where she gets that phrase. Joke.

A Day at the Pool

Everyday after Quincy's nap, we head to the pool...she loves the water!!! When she sees the pool for the first time each day, she screams, "Wa-wa" over and over. I don't think I will ever tire of hearing that....

We typically start each visit with a run through the "mister" in the children's area of the pool. From there we usually move on to the "lazy river" for a lazy-float through the fountains and waterfalls.

Summer in the suburbs is very different than in the city...

Living in the suburbs has taken a little adjustment, but I think we're going to be okay. If we stayed in the city, we never would have seen this turtle, we wouldn't be able to walk to the lake to throw the stick in the water for the dogs (well, dog, as Otis won't go near the water), and we wouldn't have all the wonderful parks (plural) so near us that Quincy loves to play in.

Quincy throwing the stick for Cosmo (okay, she doesn't get it very far so I end up throwing it for him instead).
Cosmo fetching his stick in the lake....
Just happy.

Our New House (which will hopefully be ready in September)...

I'm not really exactly sure where Quincy is standing...maybe the closet adjacent to the kitchen....just a guess....

Post-Move...We're in a rental until September...

Contrary to what her facial expression shows, Quincy actually likes the new house....
Kiss....

Pre-Move, Part One...

The last play-time in our favorite dogwood tree...
A kiss for Uncle Jay....

Pre-Move, Part Two...

The last time Quincy played with Uncle's Mike and Eric before we moved....

Pre-Move, Part Three.....

The last time Quincy helped clean the pool out....
The last time Quincy and Cosmo pined for the tennis ball that Cosmo dropped in the pool...
The last time Quincy and Tim blew bubbles on the wall....

The last time we walked to our favorite park....

Blowing Bubbles...

There is a ventilation grate on top of the underground parking structure at our local shopping center (Target, grocery, etc). Whenever we walk over it, Quincy loves loves loves to stand on top of it. The picture says it all.

A Day at the Park

Last weekend was Spring Break. As usual here in Atlanta, the weather didn't cooperate the way we wanted. However, weather aside, the break was the best we've ever had (24 hours a day with Quincy!).
